Physiology

This course aims to understand the mechanism, which is underlying behind each organ system, integration of the physiological function of each organ system characterizes the performance of the human body as a whole in health. Physiology is concerned with the normal function of the body system that will be discussed with appropriate sections involving all the systems like cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, digestive, nervous, and reproductive systems. By the end of the course, the students will be able to describe the basis of the different physiological mechanisms and regulatory processes occurring at the different levels of all the body systems.

Course Objectives:

  • Know the normal structure and function of the major systems of the body and acquire an appropriate functional background of cells, tissues, organ, and organ system.
  • Understand selected disorders pertaining to the different organ system of the body and able to differentiate the physiological and pathophysiological mechanism of the selected disorders of the organ system in the lecture.
  • Understand and explain the factors influencing the incidence and manifestation of disease.
